Threekey Qi2 15W MagSafe Car Mount Charger With Detachable Charger

Feb 26,2025 | Threekey_global

February is coming to an end, and the number of days with temperatures gradually rising to more than 10 degrees is increasing.

The countdown to spring travel is about to begin.

Speaking of vacations, I believe many people are planning long car trips with their families.

When driving long distances, you will want to use your smartphone for navigation or to play videos and music, but so far, there are some tricky issues when it comes to installing a smartphone holder or charger on the dashboard.

"Simple smartphone holders" without charging functions can be introduced relatively cheaply, but since the charging cable must be connected directly to the smartphone itself, the way to deal with the charging cable is often limited.

On the other hand, with a holder/charger with wireless charging function, you only need to worry about whether the smartphone itself is compatible with MagSafe or qi, and while it is convenient not to have to worry about the type of cable or the location of the socket, they tend to be relatively expensive regardless of whether you have an Android or an iPhone with an older Lightning connector.

I know it's convenient, but would I be willing to spend a lot of money on a model with charging functions for occasional long-distance driving? This is why I can't help but worry about the cost-effectiveness issue.

This situation is especially frustrating now that everything is getting more and more expensive, and you want to keep your expenses as low as possible.

Well, this time we are going to introduce you to the THREEKEY Qi2 15W MagSafe Car Mount Charger, which not only solves these delicate problems at once, but is also very simple to use.

The features of this product are as follows:

  • 360-degree rotating base allows for free adjustment of horizontal angles
  • Adopts three-axis metal joints and high-strength zinc alloy brackets, combining sturdiness and flexibility
  • The convenient detachable mechanism allows you to charge your smartphone at home and in the car
  • Supports qi2 and MagSafe for easy and accurate installation and fast charging
  • Equipped with N48-grade neodymium magnets to firmly hold the device and prevent it from falling.

Packing list:

The accessories included with this product are as follows:

  • Product body (one base, one charging part)
  • USB charging cable
  • MagSafe auxiliary ring
  • Double-sided seal
  • Cleaning wipes
  • Operation instructions

First, here is the front of the charger part of the main unit.

This product is designed so that the charger and holder parts can be separated, so when separated they can be used as a standalone MagSafe charger or a standalone smartphone holder, and when the two parts are combined they can be used as a smartphone holder with charging functionality - an incredible product.

This photo shows only the "charger" of the two parts, with the holder part separated.

Next is the side of the charger part of the main unit.

There is a USB Type-C terminal on the side, which supplies power.

It is a little difficult to understand because the product photos on Amazon do not show the cable connected, but as you can see in this photo, the charger part can be separated including the power supply, so it can be used as a MagSafe-compatible qi2 charger in a variety of situations, such as at home, on the go, and in the car.

As you can see from the photo, it is a little thick, but it doesn't feel as heavy as it looks, so it shouldn't be a burden to carry around the USB Type-C cable and charger part by themselves.

Next, we look at the back of the charger.

The manufacturer's logo is printed in the center, and logos for input/output standards and certified standards can be seen.

Next, we look at the front of the smartphone holder part of the main body.

This also has the manufacturer's logo engraved in the center, and the overall design has a stylish leather-like texture.

Perhaps this was done to make the case look stylish even when not in use.

Next, the side (front) of the main holder part.

When viewed from the side, you can see that the holder part is thicker than the charger part.

There is a notch in the middle, and if you put your finger here and pull up, the foldable holder part will pop up.

On the other hand, you can fold it up when not in use, so it can be stored compactly.

Next is the side (rear) of the main holder part.

Just like the front side, there are cutouts on this side, making it easier to insert your fingers on both sides and lift up the folding part.

Next, the back of the main holder part.

When you purchase it, 3M double-sided tape is already neatly attached, so installation is simple; just peel off the sticker on the front and stick it on.

This is a little nice touch for people like me who are not very good with hands.

Next, we lifted up the folding mechanism of the main holder.

It takes quite a bit of strength to lift it, but it gives you the feeling that it will be able to firmly support even a heavier smartphone.

Next, we'll take a close-up look at just the folding mechanism in the main holder.

As you can see in the photo, there are three rotation axes, which allows for very flexible adjustment of the vertical angle and length.

Next, the main holder and charger parts are put together.

The holder and charger parts are joined with a strong magnet, so a great thing about them is that no special parts like screws are required.

And because it's "just attached with a magnet," the charger part can be rotated 360 degrees to any angle you like.

What's great is that the USB cable socket can also rotate 360 degrees.

With products that have a fixed cable attachment position, you can often find yourself scratching your head after purchasing the product only to find that the wiring is incompatible with your car, but with this product those worries are minimized.

【Feeling of use】

First, I decided to try charging it by removing just the charger part from the main unit, as shown in the photo.

The next device we'll be attaching to this product is the Google Pixel Fold.

The Pixel Fold (first generation) doesn't support MagSafe, so we're using a fake MagSafe case.

Next, I placed the Pixel Fold on top of the product like this.

When I placed the Pixel Fold on top of the charger, it began charging properly, as you can see in the photo.

This is to be expected, but it's somehow comforting.

*The battery icon in the top right of the photo shows the battery icon when it's charging.

Next, we connected the holder and tried lifting it up.

The Pixel Fold is a bit heavy at 283g because it's a foldable smartphone, but even when we attached it as shown in this photo and shook it around a bit, the device didn't shake or shift and seemed to hold it firmly.

Next, I decided to install this product in a car.

Unfortunately, the car I was testing didn't have a USB Type-C port, so I used a Type-A conversion adapter to power it.

Next, I installed the main unit on the dashboard like this.

I was a little worried because I was using a USB Type-A conversion connector, but the battery icon on the Pixel Fold confirmed that it was charging without any problems.

The base of this product has a horizontal rotation mechanism.

When I twisted it sideways with my smartphone placed on it, it made a clicking sound and started to rotate while locking in place.

This means you can freely adjust the horizontal angle, such as facing it outward as shown in this photo.

This is convenient for installing the product on the passenger seat but wanting to check the screen from the driver's seat, and you might want to make fine adjustments depending on the lighting or seat position, so I think this is a really well-designed feature.

Finally, I removed the charger and attached an iPhone with the metal plate attached to the back to this product.

If you don't need to charge the main unit, you can remove the entire charger part as shown in this photo, so you can use it stylishly without the cable getting in the way.

There is a holder (without charging function) that I had been using until now in the bottom right front of the photo, but after using this product for a while I decided to remove it and switch to it.

[Thoughts on using it/Others]

The clever features of this product, such as the ability to separate the stand and charger parts and the ability to rotate the base, are very simple from a technical perspective, so it's easy to think "oh, nothing special", but in fact I feel that it accurately captures the needs of users and makes them think "if only it were this way".

Thanks to these innovations, the product can not only be adjusted in a wide range of angles in both vertical and horizontal directions, but is also strong enough to withstand severe shaking, can be used as a standalone smartphone stand or as a charger in the car, and the charger part can be used daily at home and in the car, and can be compactly stored when not in use. The result is a product that is ideal in terms of functionality and cost-effectiveness.
In other words, it would not be surprising if this product became a "standard product" under certain conditions, in other words, if you plan to use a smartphone compatible with MagSafe or equivalent, then you should be very happy with this product.

If you are looking for a MagSafe compatible car mount or charger and have trouble choosing a product that is both cost-effective and affordable, we recommend that you consider buying this product.
